In December 2023, we published our first ever infographic. These are the updated numbers one year later.
2024 was an incredible year for Speak Carbon. Having achieved Platinum CLO status in 2023, we went on to become only the eighth Carbon Literacy Training Organisation in the world.
Our Carbon Literacy work is really important to us and our achievements in the Carbon Literacy community are only possible because of the fantastic organisations we’ve been able to work with. Here are some testimonials from some of those folks:

2025 looks set to be another busy year for Speak Carbon. We’re looking forward to continuing our work in Carbon Literacy, as well as launching new projects delivering our own climate learning interventions Learning Carbon and Speaking Carbon, and growing our work in Climate Fresk.

*Calculating the carbon savings of pledges is a little complicated, but here’s how we’ve done it:
When CL participants complete their assessments, we ask them to estimate the impact of their pledges based on the following ranges:
low = 0-500 kg CO2e
medium = 500 kg-1 ton CO2e
high = 1-5 tons CO2e
very high 5-10 tons CO2e
If we were to assume the impact of every pledge is at the lowest end of these ranges; low impact pledges would save around 10kg, medium impact pledges would save 500kg, high impact pledges would save 1 ton and very high impact pledges would save 5 tons.
If we were to assume the impact of every pledge is at the highest end of these ranges; low impact pledges would save 500kg, medium impact pledges would save 1 ton, high impact pledges would save 5 tons and very high impact pledges would save 10 tons.
We’ve therefore assumed each pledge impact is roughly in the middle of these ranges to calculate our totals. The gives us; 250kg for low impact pledges, 750kg for medium impact pledges, 2.5 tons for high impact pledges and 7.5 tons for very high impact pledges.
