The Carbon Literacy Project (CLP) now requires anyone delivering Carbon Literacy training to be accredited as at least a Carbon Literacy Facilitator.
Due to the high quality training provided by Speak Carbon via our Training Professionals programme, the CLP has approved the programme as a unique fast track pathway for those wishing to gain first Carbon Literacy Facilitator and then Carbon Literacy Trainer accreditation.
Carbon Literacy Facilitator accreditation
The normal route to becoming a Carbon Literacy Facilitator (CLF) is to attend the CLP’s Delivering Successful Carbon Literacy course. After attending this course, participants are required to deliver or support the delivery of at least one Carbon Literacy training session. Having completed this step, folks are then asked to complete a Carbon Literacy Facilitator application form. This includes a reflective account of their experience delivering (or supporting delivery of) the training. The applicant will then receive their Carbon Literacy Facilitator accreditation. If only delivering Carbon Literacy training informally or for non-commercial purposes this may be the highest level of accreditation needed.
Fast track to Carbon Literacy Facilitator with Speak Carbon
For those delivering Carbon Literacy training regularly, in an official capacity and/or for commercial purposes, the CLP recommends individuals complete a Train the Trainer course and work through the pathway to become accredited Carbon Literacy Trainers (CLT).
Our Training Professionals course has been deemed by CLP to be uniquely comprehensive. It is therefore the fastest way to gain CLF accreditation on the way to full CLT accreditation. The course provides all the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver Carbon Literacy training. Content includes practice delivery of Carbon Literacy materials, meaning participants can apply for CLF accreditation immediately on completing the course.
This fast track is unique to Speak Carbon.
The support is ongoing
On completing our Training Professionals course, participants begin to deliver Carbon Literacy training and build their portfolio of evidence towards applying for full Carbon Literacy Trainer accreditation. Everyone acheiving CLT accreditation is invited by the CLP to join the Trainer Directory.
