By invitation only – Carbon Literacy Training Organisation

Speak Carbon Employees with the Collective's Carbon Literacy Training Organisation certificate.

Speak Carbon Collective is thrilled to have been invited to apply for, and awarded the title of Carbon Literacy Training Organisation (CLTO) by The Carbon Literacy Project (CLP).

We are one of only seven current organisations to accredited CLTOs.

What is a Carbon Literacy Training Organisation?

Periodically the CLP will invite an exemplary Carbon Literate Organisation to apply to become a Carbon Literacy Training Organisation. The CLP describes a Carbon Literacy Training Organisation as;

“An organisation as having a depth of experience and expertise in designing and delivering quality Carbon Literacy training.

CLTO is primarily aimed at professional training organisations and consultancies that design and deliver Carbon Literacy training solutions at scale to many individuals and multiple organisations.”

Speak Carbon’s breadth of experience in developing and delivering Carbon Literacy training programmes is what gained us this accolade. Get in touch to find out how we can engage your organisation on climate with Carbon Literacy and our other climate learning programmes.

What does being a Carbon Literacy Training Organisation mean?

Being a CLTO reflects the quality of the training delivered to our clients and the breadth of sectors engaged. For example, one of the key elements of great climate awareness training is designing bespoke content into the delivery. Sector and course specific content makes the learning extremely relevant and motivating to participants, whatever industry they come from.

Whether we provide end to end support or the client requires less involvement with planning, this is the golden thread which links projects across the sectors we work with. Thus learners engage and become active participants among the globally climate-aware citizens.

How did Speak Carbon achieve CLTO?

Previously, Speak Carbon had achieved Platinum Carbon Literate Organisation accreditation. The invitation to apply for CLTO was a recognition of the continuing development of the quality and breadth of our offering.

In order to fulfil  the requirements, Speak Carbon had plenty of experience to draw upon. Some of the components were;

  • Providing evidence of a range of sectors worked with.
  • Observation while providing training by a CLP representative.
  • Demonstrating that our trainers deliver to high quality training – shown by our trainers’ Carbon Literacy Trainer accreditations
  • Showing a track record of course design and support of clients in designing their own course materials when preferred.
  • Supply of evidence of organisations supported to become Carbon Literate Organisations themselves.
  • Providing customer feedback showing satisfaction with the outcomes of the course. Below are some of the responses we have received which fulfilled this section.

Participant testimonials demonstrate quality training

Here’s a taster of some of the feedback we’ve received on completing training sessions.  Positive outcomes like these are more likely to lead to participants’ ongoing action to implement emissions reduction pledges .

“I really enjoyed and valued the course and your enthusiastic and informed contribution to it. It’s already stimulated some very good conversations within OC and helped take this crucial subject to a new level of engagement.
