Speak Carbon’s Ned Gatenby at TEDx

Against a backdrop of international conflict, economic instability, and political polarisation, efforts to reach Net Zero continue. As is often noted in Carbon Literacy training, even if we ended all greenhouse gas emissions tomorrow, the effect of those already present in Earth’s atmosphere would continue to impact habitats, industries and communities for decades to come. This means that the Net Zero transition must focus on building resilience. Ensuring that as our emissions come down and the impacts of climate change play out, local areas are able to withstand and recover quickly from significant shocks that come our way.

Ned Gatenby, on our Board of Directors, recently took to the stage at TEDxTeesside to describe how your role in building that resilience might look. By bringing the focus to where you live, he helps to mitigate the overwhelm and offers a path to local resilience.
