We start 2025 off with a Pledge of the Month from Phoenix Housing Community Housing.
We worked with Phoenix back in April last year, delivering training to both staff and residents.
This is the second pledge from this project that we’ve chosen to spotlight as a Pledge of the Month, and all of the pledges made during our work with Phoenix were of a really high standard. Read about the other Phoenix PotM here.
I like this pledge in particular because it centres on the idea of utilising an already existing framework to bring new knowledge to a group. The fact that YB100 is already supporting 200+ young people means that this is a perfect mechanism through which to disseminate the knowledge this participant has learned during their Carbon Literacy training.
Engaging young people on the key messages identified in this pledge, is a really impactful way to ensure they are thinking about climate and the impact their behaviours have on emissions right at the start of their careers. This means they will be familiar with the basics and able to discuss things like buying and travel habits with their peers more and more as they progress in their training and move into the world of work.
